Well the tapping is back but she runs as smooth as silk now...... still burning off the oil leak, just need to get someone to help bleed the brakes now

Yep, when I built it years ago I shaved the the heads 60 tho to increase compression and this is the first motor to give me a problem with it, I need pushrods that are 60 tho shorter than stock so they won’t tap anymore

Take the rocker arms out, put em in a vise, take a torch to em and bang them the 60 tho, re install

I have a set of Scorpion roller rockers which I was saving for my next motor, I am hoping to keep the stock rockers for now. I guess worst case I buy the studs I need and pushrods to be able to run the roller rockers, this valvetrain issue is irritating I haven’t had a problem before with any of my previous motors

Lol oh boy, I used my super ancient hand vacuum pump and sucked some more air out of the brakes... enough that I was comfortable enough to get it into 4th gear around the neighborhood
Man that felt good all the air rushing around me the steering shaft falling off the steering column the body sliding around on the frame lifters taping like crazy parking braking smoking because I forgot to release it, lol can’t wait for it to be a daily driver

Good clean fun with the kids hanging on to the white knuckle bar ! Doesn't get much better than that at that age with ole dad.

Very true words but, He's got to get it running better and about 12 years of testing just to make sure it's running correctly !

Noah looks like he's gonna make one heck of a white knuckle grab bar Dude while his sister is in command of the jeep. Don't worry you have some time to find another CJ and do a complete rebuild with him as a project as a guys time thing. You better get with it though !

Dimmer switch installed on the floor and I decided the K.I.S.S. Principal was going to win out on my electric fans so I spent a while running a wire from the 2nd fan back to the 1st fan motor so that both run every time
