I beg to differ, the car was called an A.C. Aceca Bristol. A.C. cars bought the engine from Bristol, who quit making them. Hence the advent of the Cobra.

Where in the hell did I pull "Sheldon" from?
I remember seeing an AC when I was a kid and was impressed with how much damage a June bug can do to an aluminum body. I thought it was called a "Sheldon" so help me.:notworthy:
Carol makes great Chili too!:chug:

X2 on the "Bug Strike!"

On Saturday I got the plow and bracket off the jeep. We got the thing moved to my buddy's house.

We had the State Trouper stop by when we were loading the thing to make sure that we were not steeling it, talk about now personality.

His wife got some pictures of us getting it off the trailer at his house. I will talk to him about posting.

Looks like it needs a starter and relay, needs the brakes gone through and the Transmission rebuilt.

I do need a lot of practice in backing up a trailer.:( I bought the truck so I wouldn't need a trailer but It always seem to have one behind it. I had to man up and have him back it up.:D

The Jeeps they build are for a totally different market.
i.e. no cup holders, air bags, carpet, seat heaters, video players, power windows.;)

Hey i will trade yall my half hardtop and doors for the full hard top and doors

Oh by the way the doors on the postals will only fit that hard top since they are squared at the top instead of rounded

Hello,

I am Captain Jack Smith, Pastor of the Salvation Army Church in Juneau, Alaska. As of yesterday, I am now the owner of the Postal. It is coming to Juneau and will be restored totally as when built. Before you ask, NO I didn't get it free or for $1. I am really pleased to be able to save a bit of Alaska History by keeping it stock.

Way to revive a thread from the dead!! :D I look forward to seeing the postal restoration. :chug:

I really want a right hand drive cj! Where are you guys finding these!

Dave I hear ya but I still want a righthand drive Jeep for ddin!

The Postal arrived in Juneau and I started doing some body work - Surface rust removal and buying some parts. The springs were sagging on the rear and covered in rust. The Shackles need help. Carter BBD is in sad shape.

Decided to buy some replacement parts.

Pro Comp 2 1/2" Lift with shocks and red covers
1" lift shackles with red bushings
MC2100 Carb.
Corvette Master Cylinder, Zuki vented rotors, Maxima Calipers for a rear brake disc conversion.

None of this has been installed. Working outside in Alaska weather has a tendency to slow things down.

Desperately need a set of wheels and tires. At this time, just a bit short of funds.

We have decided to paint it back to the Olympic White, put The Salvation Army Shields on the sides of the top and on the barn door. With Emergency Services decals. It will be used in parades, search & rescue mission and large fires to feed the fire fighters. Gonna be fun vehicle.

If I ever learn to post pictures I'll get some posted.

Reviving this from the dead to see if you made any progress with it... I just picked up a RHD CJ7 recently and am doing a little work to get it to pass inspection, but it is sure pretty cool!
