83 Right Hand Drive CJ??

83 Right Hand Drive CJ??
I know Jeeps were made under license in India since WW2, the were also made under license in Venezuela, I have also seen Israeli CJ8 's & I have pictures of Jeeps being made in a blacksmiths shop BF Iraq, obviously a unlicensed manufacturer. All the printed info I've read used the 27K number though.
You forgot Mandaran (may be a misspelling) Jeep in the orient, has made jeeps under license for years, make the Jeepney so popular in the orient, especially the Phillipians, they alone could have 27000 units imported.

I guess this is a awesome find and at the price what more could you say.
It only has around 27k on it and the odometer has not rolled.
Now would it be bad to change it to a left hand drive and put an manual Transmission into it.

I see so much stuff that I could do to the thing.

popularly reported the CJ8 has 27792 units
the CJ6 50172
so once again, were do all the units you see overseas get numbered?

Longhorn, I am about to drive to Vegas for a Xmas party, I will get back with any numbers I can come up with, along with any manufacturer I can come up with, but I think we are a bit in the dark on production numbers here in the good OLE USA for reasons mentioned earlier.

Why change to LH drive?

I wouldnt be changing it. As far as postals they were all 83's and there was only 270 ordered for the Alaskan Postal service. V.I.N. #s are said to be sequential but thats not a proven fact. Is it complete? Like top /doors/rear door? Id leave it intact then. If that stuff is gone have at it and do whatever you want. How about some pics of this baby? I know Id like to see this free Postal. As far as overall value Im not sure. Its rare that much is sure.
