I have a 1986 Jeep CJ7 AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l that keeps stalling. I rebuilt the carburetor, changed plugs, changed ignition module and coil. Runs perfect at idle until it warms up. Anybody have any ideas?
That is the place to start from. From there go to the pump, check for rotted fuel lines or kinks, clogged fuel pickup in the tank, or a bad fuel tank vent. This all relates to poor fuel pressure, which can be checked with a gauge or pumping fuel into a bucket.Just a quick guess, have you changed your fuel filter? If it's stalling when you give it gas you might have restricted flow somewhere upstream.
