AMC V8 Lower motor mounts

Noticed that the driver side lower motor mount has a crack between holes. So, ordered new one, the the whole patern is not the same.
Looked all over on line, but keep coming up with the same once and no explanation.
Attached a picture of both new and old side by side. And yes, looks like the crack was there for a long time and PO tried to weld it together.

Looking for help to figure out where to get the correct part.

Best guess - Looks like a weakness in the original design. Does the new mount fit properly otherwise?

The new bracket on the left is correct for your application.
I recently sold a complete set of engine mounting brackets off of a 75 CJ5 AMC 304 and that particular bracket is the same as in my photos that I took of them for the new owner.
Other than that, I can't help.

Well, the new mount will require the engine to be moved back a little and I really would like to avoid that.
any ideas what year/model the old bracket is for?

I wondered about that. The holes looked further back. You might not like what my solution would be, but here it is.

I'd weld up the holes in the mount and drill new holes where they are in the old mount.

Not all AMC V8 mounts are the same though. When installing my 360 I noticed that the AMC 304 mounts were different. Can't remember how, but different. Got lucky and made the correct choice. Lets see if I can regurgitate what he said. He asked, "Did you use the 360 mounts from the Wagoneer or the 304 mounts?" I used the Wagoneer mounts and told him why. I was stupid lucky with the correct guess.
