Build Thread Amp'd
Haha thanks mtnwhir,
My wife would agree with you, she thinks it should be gold based on the money I've spent!

Sorry if I missed it but when did this build start? A boat load of work posted in 2 weeks. Build looks good!

Looks great RJ , our local jeep dealer has a new one that color on the lot.

Thanks guys, I've been getting good reviews on the color thus far.

I work a 7 and 7 schedule with the privilege of sill coming home on the days I do work, which allows me to spend a good deal of time on the build, however, I must admit that I have been playing catch up with some of the post.
The build is still not complete. Working on installing wire harness and lights dash, basically the electrical.

This is where I am at with the build.

I was just looking back through your pics and you really did a great job with the paint work. The rolling chassis and the body itself. I probably wouldve went with a more traditional color but I think when all the details are done its gonna look pretty sweet. :D

I need to get back to work on mine. Very inspiring build. :chug:

Thank you Petescj. I am disappointed in myself with the paint. I'm more of a purist and would've liked to have kept the original paint. Just don't care for the Red with black windshield frame with white tire combination. I blame that on the rival high school in the area, those are there school colors. I know petty, but just don't care for them. Thought about Spruce Tip Green, Michigan Yellow and Clear Maple, but when I saw the new Amp'd I really liked it. Was a little worried about the color being to light with the white rims, but the rims look really nice next to it as well as the black wind shield frame.

Hope all is well
RJ

Just a little update on the progress of the build. After several hours of installing wiring harness and finally getting it to work correctly, I started putting on the fenders, gas tank and putting little odds and ends on the dash. The rear hitch assembly will of course not match up to the holes on the new bumper
I bought. Looks like I will have to drill some new holes to make it fit.
There are I few issues I'm looking to deal with, one is the emergency brake. The cable was cut by the PO, so the new one looks like it will fit snug into the emergency handle, but it looks like there should a retaining clip to hold it in place. I don't even know what it should look like. Does anyone have any idea what this clip looks like or what I should do to fix this?

Here are a few updated pictures

Well here it is my '67 CJ6 . Took it out today for the first time, and am very pleased with the way it turned out.

Very very nice you did a great job :notworthy:

Looks great! Your turnaround time on a project like this makes me feel really SLOW on mine.

Don't be discouraged, and don't be fooled. I work a 7 and 7 schedule, which allowed me to spend a lot of time on it.

Are you going to put the roll bar back in it? I think it looks better with it.

No, the roll bar will not be going back in. I'm not so sure if this CJ actually came with one. I've seen pictures of 6's with and without them, and based on where this rollbar is bolted to the jeep with very little back up, I'm sure that it was added later.
