After installing my new joints they became loose after I pressed them in the knuckle. When I say loose, the stem is now floppy and loose. Prior to pressing the stem was firm and hard to move. Is this normal after installing new joints into the knuckle?

No, mine stayed tight and were tough to move around. How did you press them in? Did you put pressure on the stem while pressing?

Update.

I pulled the ball joint and found the tension returned after removed. The ball joints are Alloy by OMIX. Contacted tech from Morris, he believes the Alloy ball joint may be a few MM larger than stock which is causing the case to be compressed which is causing the problem, or my knuckles intake hole is slightly deformed a few mm. The site specifically states these joints fit a 1972, so they are going to send me another set.

Has anyone else ever had this problem with ball joints?

Personally I chose Moog for my ball joints, greaseable ;)

I have seen numerous quality control issues with Crown and Omix parts...and yes, have had a similar result with their ball joints...I only run MOOG now.
