Another T5 Question

Allright I was able to tear into the Scrambler this weekend and I got the T-5 Pulled. The first pic is what I found. Its the 5-R shift lever that controls the rod to engage reverse. I was able to locate another one locally but they are not exactly the same. The guys at the Transmission shop said he had a box of about 30 and they all looked like the new one. Looks like it may work any one know if it will/wont? I will fit them up when I get home and report back.

Looks like you will feel the new fork move when you are shifting gears. Your old one has a smooth transition from end to end ,where the new one dosen't .They both look the same size in the picture

Well was able to get the new lever in last night and so far so good. Was able to run through all the gears and they were nice and smooth. On a side note, any one have any tips for removing the shift handle from the base?
