I have most of the parts for the rebuild of the AMC 232 i6 in my 76 CJ5 and now I'm figuring out what I want to do with the intake/carb setup. I want to try to go with triple 2 barrels or, maybe if I can find a carb small enough, 6 1 barrels.

I know Clifford used to make a triple side draft 4.0l manifold, but I can't locate one since they are discontinued. My question is has anyone here done this setup? If so would you be willing to let me know what you used for it?

My setup for the engine so far is a edelbrock 4.0l head with 55cc chambers, 0.040 compressed thickness gasket, .030 over +13 cc pistons with the block decked to 0.030 over the piston, 1.6 ratio rockers, and a 270 isky cam. I still have to get the pushrod length checked and ordered. The compression ratio will be a touch over 9 to 1.

I just want to do something different than the typical 4 barrel or twin 2 barrel setup, and I want it to be a bit of a conversation piece. I don't plan on wheeling it. It's just a restoration/car show piece that I'll have a little fun with on the road.

Maybe check over on inliners.org and inlinersinternational.org
Likely a lot more conversation over there particular to what you want to accomplish.
But DO post your progress here!
Very interested in what your doing.
Good luck.

You might also enlist the help of an aluminum fabricator. I have seen some truly show quality and functional components made by these individuals.

Thanks for the lead on those groups. I'll definitely check back in with pictures once it's completed, and hopefully a dyno run. Gonna try to get the axles overhauled this weekend and get the one piece shaft conversion done on the 20 rear.

Read up on welding the AMC20 tubes properly. The tubes are the weak link after the two piece shafts.
