I have the opportunity to pick up a 77 Cherokee chief for a little Of nothing would the d44s from this rig work for under my cj it also has a 360 I would like to have if my AMC 304 ever decides to lay down in me I know the axles are wide track but that's fine since this rig is my off road rig how hard would the conversion be if possible

If you use them full width you will have to outboard the front springs.
You will have to mod the steering a little also as they did not have cross over steering.
If it has a centered rear you can move the spring pads in back.

The passenger side perch is part of the pumpkin.

Dana 44 front has the spring pad cast into pumpkin, would take some effort to grind and weld in new spring under pad

Ok I understand is there any way you could post aome picks of out boarded springs so I can see how they are done and also my pumpkin in the rear is not centered it is off set can I just outboard the springs in the rear too?

I didn't out board mine, I cut my front down on the driver side so I could keep my springs under the frame. There is plenty of info about out boarding on the web. Try google for lots of info.
As for the rear I think you are going to have to find one that has a centered diff. Out boarding the springs isn't going to change how far out of center it is.

If your Transfer Case is original your Jeep came from the factory with a centered rear AMC20 . If it previously had a 400/quadra-trac it would be an offset AMC20

If it is an offset 44 could be a FSJ or pre CJ72. I believe the older waggys with a Dana 20 case had offset for fuel tank clearance but I wouldn't run an offset on a SWB Jeep.

Was the 44 in your sig a typo? If not what did your rear 44 come out of?
