I have taken the roof rack off anf after work i will get under and take some pics. I appreciate the help guys

Just to let you know I wasnt against the rack itself. Id love to have one like that for mine , unfortunately it wouldnt fit in the garage with it on. Its just something I wouldnt use coupled with that body lift. I also agree with Hack , the SM65 is a good Transmission to swap in. Im doing one myself... one of these days.

What trans do you have now? Honeslty popping out of gear and shifting sloppy can be any thing from loose detent balls to bad synchros to the body not being aligned right.

Figure out what trans you have. Is it a 3 or 4 speed? these are common chevy trans.

Do you have a body lift? Does it grind going into gear or just pop out?

I'm putting a muncie 4 peed in mine but mine has been built up for rock crawling or racing it has the low low gear and then the Overdrive gear too I would say go with the muncie with the low low you build them up lots of different ways
