I say it sound like a great plan. I am in for it.

Sounds like I need to start saving my pennies and my vacation days.:D

My only obstacle is the 915mi. from home part but let's keep the ball rolling and see if we can get it together.:driving:

An annual jeep ride is a great idea but it's getting too late to do it this year. With all the snow the higher elevations get around here it takes half a summer for the snow to melt. Black Bear and Imogene passes don't open up until about the first week in July. If you guys want to meet up here in the San Juan mountains it should be next year from July to Sept.
:chug:

Too bad the Telluride Bluegrass Festival is in June, be a good stop.
Looks like you are trail boss Dave.
Set us a prospective date.
I'm not sure my CJ is rock solid, so i'd like some check list.
I'd hate to be the one getting dragged around the trail,& buying all the beer at the pub crawl. :barf: LOL

the 4th of july parade in Creede Co. is a hoot. they would likly let us all drive in the parade. Do the alpine loop, spent the night in Bear town or Silverton, just to get warmed up and then down to the Black Bear.

All of the sudden, I may have to do some begging, the wife made Christmas plans, which may interfere with other trips. Sas, it looks like Old Dog an I would be over 1000 mi getting there. My issue #2 is no CJ. I know it won't be ready by then, but the liiby should make it through.

Just have to see how it goes. Life has a way of getting in the way some times. I will say this, a trip like this will be a defigning moment in your life. for years to come events will be referenced by the relation to the "trip into the mountains".

I just ran it through my garmin, my house to Durango is 1458 mi.
towing the jeep, thats about $1000 in gas to get there and back.
I need to borrow somebodys diesel.

1400 miles, around 28 hours driving, could be fun. I have a half way stop in Iowa. I am thinking I might need to do a lot of begging.

Well it sounds like we need to start a new thread:
"1st Annual Jeep-CJ,com Trail Ride"
If I were to post such a thread I might find myself organizing the vacations for dozens of jeepers coming from all over the US. I would like to meet up and ride with those of you that I have been blogging with but I don't want this to get out of hand.
Let me think about this for a while. I'm sure we can make it happen.

I've run into this before but sometimes the U S of A is just too big!
Well nothing we can do aout that here and I like IO's "defineing moment" speach so rally the troops and start begging, borrowing, tradding vacation time, what ever lets get er' done!:chug:

No worries Dave,
We're Jeepers, what's the worst that could happen? LOL
645 miles for me, thing is, i'd pass through Moab along the way........
Lots of time to ponder, plan, & dream.
IO set me up with a Jerry can/ tire carrier.
Sasquach buffed me out with a gun rack.
It"d be great to thank you folks in person, & meet everyone else.
It's been awhile since i had a "defining moment".
Never had one in my CJ.......... Yet.
It'd be good for the soul.

If this turns into a reality I will definetly come up, count me in! I have the time and its not to far from Mesa, Az.

well the only problem with drivin it that far is breakin something while i'm out there and not being able to get it fixed or get it home. if it were just drivin out there and back yeah i'd try it, (i done all of the work on it if i can't trust myself who can i trust?) but your talking about goin offroad and that means a high possibility of problems, big problems.
