The Wheels:
Mikey Thompson Classic III Black Alloy Wheels 15 x 8

My SWAG On Tires: (scientific wild *** guess)
BF Goodrich 33x10.50R-15, All-Terrain T/A KO

Already have the wheels, what is the best tire for these wheels?

Driving Conditions: 50% On Road, %50 Off Road

Sounds like a winning combo to me provided you don't wheel in sloppy mud and do normal trail riding.

I think for a scientific wild *** guess you did pretty well. :) If the old style BFG Mud Terrain was still being produced Id push you towards it with the 50% / 50% ratio your giving. I cant vouch for the new KM style and have heard mixed opinions. The All Terrain will give you great wear and half decent traction if used in the conditions Kane stated.

The wheel tire size sounds good. Just remember that the A/T's don't work well in the mud as they will not clean themselves out very well.

I agree with all of them a good combo :chug:

There aren't many 10.5 inch wide 33s to pick from. For a jeep that is seeing that much offroad, I would look at a more aggressive tire. The MTRs are awesome. Great on the street, and quiet, but also very good in the woods. The KM2s are also great, and I think you can get 33x10.5. I would get either of those two before the BFG A/Ts.

I'm going to go a different direction here; what about a 16" wheel? There are way more tire tread/size options at 16" these days and also you can get them in higher load ratings, D and E. These higher load ratings mean stronger sidewalls so they can handle turning on heavy pickup trucks so they are a lot more durable offroad. They dont flex as well when aired down so not for the rock crawler, but for a multi purpose rig these will out perform the 15" rim options. I have this kind of tire on my daily/weekend warrior and they have prooved very durable and long lasting (maybe a harder rubber since they are meant for heavier vehicles). Something to think about.

A stiff heavy load rating tire will make your bad riding CJ that much worse. Hard tread will hurt your offroad traction as well. It just doesn't sound like a good idea all around to me.

Meh, I didn't notice a big difference ride wise.

I agree the harder tread (and less sidewall flex) will offer less traction but this is really only an issue for more extreme stuff, rock crawling traction or floatation in deep snow.

For average offroading and all around use I'd take the most durable tire available - sacrifice a little ride quality for a reduced chance of tearing a sidewall.

Ups and down to both, pick your poison :) :chug:
