Clutch Replacement.

You have a Ford bearing. The one you want should be fairly easy to find. Make sure you measure from the bearing face to the flat at the fork clip.

You are schooling yourself on putting a clutch in a Jeep. You are going to have a steep learning curve. But, the second time you do this will be MUCH easier and quicker to do.

More than likely you will need to rebuild your Bellcrank. It's not difficult, but necessary for good clutch feel. If you remove your Bellcrank make sure you reinstall it correctly because the lever arms on the crank are different. Be aware that when reinstalled the lever arm angle is critical. When I installed mine the first time the clutch was almost impossible to use. Once the crank angle was worked out I can work the clutch easily with one hand. It's not rocket science, but pay attention to that detail.

I'll do some research on this. Thanks.

The bearing surface to the flat of the clip. Ok.

Ok. Got it back together. Took it out and it runs great.
One question. I haven't drove a manual Transmission in a long time. The clutch engages pretty quick off the floor. It engages and disengages pretty low in the pedal travel. Normal?

Thanks to everyone who helped me out with this.

How much pedal freeplay do you have?
You want 1"-1 1/4" freeplay. No more, no less.

Ok. Having never measured this befor here is what I did. I pulled the clutch pedal up as far as it will go. Then pushed down lightly until right when it engaged the clutch and stopped there. It's 1 and 1/4 inch of travel. There is really not much more adjustment in the adjustment nut.

From the top position of the pedal. With your hand-Lightly push down the pedal till you feel resistance. That is your pedal freeplay.

Do be sure to ck the pivoting contact points in the bellcrank for wear.

I'm still looking into that. I haven't found very good i.fo on it yet. I don't want to touch it unless I really understand what I'm doing. Sounds crazy coming from someone who just did his own clutch first time. But yeh, I haven't forgot about that.
