coolant leak

I've got an intermittent coolant leak. It's done it twice now where it's leaked about a cup of coolant. I can't find any leaks but it's coming from the center of the engine, right under the water pump. I ran it here in the driveway and not a drop. I drove it to work today and nothing. My coolant level in the radiator looks good. I think it's intermittently leaking from the water pump. I've never heard of that though.

Borrow or purchase a pressure tester. You could find one that will do the job for $25-$50

What Posi suggests will work great, it might be leaking thru the weep hole on the bottom of the water pump indicating that the bearing is going.

Well I can use a bicycle inner tube and do the same thing. A new water pump is $12. I'll try that thanks yall

You need to replace the water pump I have had this happen two times once on my truck with a 454 and on my Cherokee with a 4.0. It will not leak when its running or when the motor is hot but shut it off and let it cool down and many hrs later its dripping coolant.

First-Make sure all of your hose clamps are tight.
Then make sure the bolts on the t'stat house'n are tight and that the housing/bolts ain't leak'n.
CK the bolts on your WP also.
