Dana 20 twin stick help

Dana 20 twin stick help
the rail ground down a touch

i'll try to post the pic again later

Interesting how different but ultimately the same these cases are. Mine needed grinding on the front shift fork. I'm sure you already know, but the Big gear on the front wheel drive unit goes next to the case with the Fork slot going towards the middle of the case. If the Allen screw went in without flopping the fork almost upside down it is in backward. I'm enjoying watching this thread grow and your success.

Its back together except the bottom cover. It shifts into every position flawlessly. I cant get the shift rail pic to come up but check out billavista .com-teraflex to see a good presentation on the complete rebuild. He did a good job with only one hiccup, he says the correct shift rail to grind the first time he says it then says a different one. oh well his site really helped me. I guess i was asleep the first time i rebuilt this but noe have a complete understanding.Gonna put the case in this weekend. :chug:

I may not be understanding what your saying but the front sliding gear slot should face the rear of the case. look up the website i mentioned in the post before this one. I can see having to grind the front shift fork at the base where the set screw goes in as it is a little close on mine but with all bolted in place there is plenty of clearance. I checked and checked and rechecked everything.
Look at the pic i just posted, if it looks like that youre good to go.

You are all good.

Any updates?

Yes, It works great, shifts very easy. Love the low range, well just in neighborhood so far.

put the inside together yesterday

I appreciate everyones help with the issue I had. It cost me time , labor, and of course $$$$. Who would of thought ? Such a simple mistake. I hope my mistake will help someone out there one day.. Time to move on to the next phase. Once again, the mistake I made was putting the rear drive gear in 180 degrees backwards. DONT DO IT!

Excellent! Now you have a little something extra. Time is just time with your hobby. Some put great stock in every minute they spend the same as clocking in at work, I.E. time is money. I never really understood that way of thinking. Well, I can if the time is taken away from a paying job, that's different from time off work. You stuck with it and didn't give up, you did good in my book. Even more than that, with your knowledge of the T20 you can help others and that's about as good as it gets.
