Dana 300 speedometer gear housing

Went to change my gear to a 32. My gear housing only had a mark for 21-25. Can I rotate it to fit, and if so does anyone have a landmark or method to make it fit? Do I need a different housing?

it is a standard Chrysler gear and housing from their automatics from the 70s all the way into the 90s, you can probably get another one from a Transmission shop. it is offset to provide the necessary tooth mesh/contact surface, not sure if you could rotate it far enough

I have changed my speedo gears to accommodate anywhere from oem size clear up to 35" and have just rotated the original Dana 300 housing to get them to mesh.

What's the secret to getting them to mesh right?

As I recall, it was rotated until it stopped, then tightened down. I do not recall if it was counter or clockwise. If it did not register, it was reset.
