Dana 44 axle swap

Ive been considering doing to wagoneer 44 front axle swap into my 84cj7. I have located a 78 charokee chief wagoneer axle. {passanger side drop) Can anyone tell me if this is the ideal axle I'm looking for? Can I make it work? Should I be looking for something different? Any good articles or write ups? thanks in advance

Cherokee S and Wagoners narrow track axles are what your looking for
Most Cherokee Cheif's come with wide track axles (extended flares).
