dana/spicer 20 no 2 hi

i have a Dana 20 Transfer Case and i can't get it to go in to 2hi i can only get 4hi and 4low and nutarel i took the pan off the bottom and i don't see any thing broke and every thing looks right on the linage any body have any idea's of what could be wrong

Is the shift lever hitting the floor before it travels far enough to engauge? Could be the Transmission mounts have worn and the Transfer Case position has shifted so the lever cant travel as far as it needs to? Also check the boot around the hole for being in the way too....just a thought.

It's a good suggestion to check the linkage. They may need some grease or could be a bent pin. My Dana 20 shifter has to go to 2 HI before engaging 4 HI. What does yours do?

If you have the pan off, you should be able to watch the shifter fork positions as you move the lever.

Maybe there is a poppet issue inside the case at the rails? Or do you have a FSJ Dana 20 ? Sometimes they get swapped in and shift over then forward to get to low.
