- I PURCHASED A 82' CJ-5 V6 THAT WAS RESTORED 9 YEARS AGO AND THEN LEFT IN A FIELD. IT DIDN'T RUN WHEN I GOT IT AND IT'S BEEN A PROJECT GETTING IT GOING. IT RUNS, BUT I KEEP WORKING MY WAY AROUND THE ENGINE FIXING THINGS. SO I'VE GOT A LOT OF QUESTIONS.
I've got an 82 CJ5 , straight V6. I've got it running, but it's been dying lately. It will start right up and the engine seems to run well, but I'll start driving it and after less then 5 minutes of driving it the engine just stops. I usually can restart it right away, but occasionally I can't get it started. If I let it sit for an hour it usually will start right up again. I had someone help me with some vacuum hoses a few months ago and I'm wondering if I have a pressure issue. I've looked at the hose diagrams on here and the links to other sites, but my hoses seem to be different. I'm stumped with what to do now. Does it sound like a venting problem or something else?
Thanks in advance.
