Fenderwell exit headers, which brand works best

84 CJ7 with 401, going to install some headers and curious which brand seems to hold up well?, which last longer like ceramic coated, anodized or painted? going to add some small side pipes to release the rumble.

I just installed a set of Hedmans on my 79. I'm fairly happy with them, now. I had to dent one tube on the drivers side to clear my clutch linkage and grind a little clearance on the head flanges to get at the spark plugs. Their illistration showing where to trim the inside fenderwells was a joke so I ended up taking a little more off than I needed to but other than that......

Seriously though, Hedman makes some fenderwell headers that I had on my CJ when I first got it:




These were the package of Hedman headers and sidepipes, just painted hi-temp black. The paint never cooked or chipped off, I never had any rust issues, and they sounded great on the 360 I had in it.

I was also looking into fenderwell exit headers, 1980 CJ7 .

Anyone have input on;
1-5/8 vs 1-3/4 ,, leaks, having to dent.
angle and length of the collectors in relation to the body.
I would like to bolt on the Thrush turn out glass pack (#24223) and would like to know how far back it will exit. the muffler measures 34.5 inches.

Pics of this set up or any other fenderwell side pipe would be great.
