Fenderwell Headers

I bumped an older thread and got no results.

Is anyone running fenderwell headers with side pipes? Do you have a recommendation?

I have a CJ7 and I am thinking about running Thrush turn down glass pack 24223. It measures 34.5". Question, How far back from the front tire is the collector flange on certain headers.

I would like the exhaust behind the door nearer to the tire.

I am interested in pictures of setups is anyone wants to show their stuff.

My 82 cj has a 360 with fenderwell headers,there is plenty of room behind the front tire,i am running turbo tubes and added a secsion of pipe to it i'm a good 6 in. from the back tire.

I'm running fender well headers with the same "Chicken" mufflers you're pondering about. My set up is on a CJ5 . The flanges have plenty of clearance behind the tires and the turn outs have plenty of space in front of the rear tires. I don't think you'll have any clearance issues between the collectors and front tires.

I did some measuring and without any modifications the turn down muffler will be quite a bit short of the rear tires. Actually it will exit under the door opening. On My older CJ the exhaust tips just missed the rear tire.

I guess i will keep it inside the frame.
