My first post.
While I may be a newbie to the forum, I am not a newbie to Jeeps. I previously had an ’85 CJ7 and an ’86 CJ7 . The first one was a bit of project that I turned into a really nice Jeep and the second one was just a really nice Jeep that I just had to have.
I sold the ’85 over 14 years ago and the ’86 about 13 years ago. I was told by many that I would hate the day I sold them and they were right.
As of last week, I have an ’81 CJ7 project Jeep. You can see a little about it and follow along my work at my blog 1981 Jeep CJ-7 Laredo Project.
For my first question, does anyone have any advice on replacing the flywheel on an I6 AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l ? There are two substantial groves in mine, and I know they cannot be ground down very much. I know that an impact wrench is an absolute for removal.
Also, I am in the market for a Jeep T-5 Transmission . I know these are not the greatest transmissions, but I removed a destroyed SR4 last night, and a T-5 is an easy fix and a bit of an upgrade for now. If anyone has one they want to part with, or knows where one is (especially if you are near Dallas), let me know.
