Build Thread Got my jeep today!!!!

Build Thread Got my jeep today!!!!
Hmm ya, but that would be another forum.

Yea your right, I got the repairs around the roll bar done and flipped it over to cut outthe plate welded in the bed.

The metal around the roll bar mount, seat belt attach was gone. I scab patched 3/16 thick steel.

Thanks! I bought a sheet of aluminum diamond plate today. It was way cheaper than a bed repir panel. I'm gonna put that in the bed, tranny cover hole, dash, and around the corners on the outside. If I have any left I'm gonna put a strip on the rockers. I figure I'll paint it the same color as the jeep.

Got to play with the diamond plate today. Got the bed piece cut out one cab corner and the shift plate. I went ahead and measured the cab corner in case any of yall wanna make your own.

On the cab corner you will notice marks at 9 1/2, 10 1/2, 11 1/2, and 12 1/2. That is where you bend it. If your fortunate enough to have a break, bend at those marks about 20 degrees. that will be 4 20 degree bends which will equal 80 and you can pull it down the rest of the way with clamps.

Nice work. Like the way your doing it yourself. Pretty cool to see how you went about it. :)

Thank you very much, just opened up the body lift box. Seems easy enough. Thanks to the Air Force for teaching me all those neat sheetmetal tricks.

I like.

I want to do a tranny cover like that out of DP and get it powder-coated a soft black.
keep the pics coming

You can buy sheets of dpat home depot, lowes, tractor supply. But they are out ragious

I did a major cleanup yesterday. Filled all the garbage cans that were available. I did manage to get my wiring set up in case of a rain day I can work on it in the garage. Oh yea, I also bought another assesory for my jeep. :)

Between my wifes truck and my jeep, The roll cage came in today. Thinking more and moreit needs to be bolted to the frame when I do the roll cage and the tub sides. So I put the tires ack o the chassis and lifted the body up. Then it got dark and my helper wanted to go in.

YEA!!!! It's my second build. Love sitting in front of the fireplace in the winter and building the 1911. It rained today so nothing got done but a bunch of sitting and thinking. I guess I'm gonna set the body back down on the frame to weld the roll cage and sides in. I'll take it back off again since I have chassis work I still wanna do.

YEEEAAAAHHHHHH!!!!! can't wait for the wheels. Gonna shoot a few coats of clear before I get them mounted. <-BAD WORD-> Cipeck 35's. They are more road tires. I have mud grips for hunting season.

I approve! I just took some old 36's off mine in favor of my 33's, but I'm going to actively look for tires 35 or 36" tall. I'm a little concerned that I'm going to be on the stock axles though, with 1 piece rear Dana 44 axles and a locker though. Still 19 splines.
