Build Thread Got my jeep today!!!!
haha you should see my back yard. i have a little field and i got lazy and i have only been mowing half of it and the other half has engulfed a couch that was never hauled off haha and due to the plumbers im missing half my front yard :/

Alright! another good productive day. Got the corners done and started on the rockers but hit a stumbling block. I forgot how they go back on???? I'm gonna go back to some old pictures and check them out. I gotta line up the body with the frame holes. Then clean everything out and spray the bed liner. I still have to get the roll bar in and do the roll cage. I didn't get the location of the two bars and the way they run but I think I can figure it out. I have lots of painting to do so hopefully it will be nice this weekend. My helper chewed up my resperator so I gotta pick up another. She also had to help when I was trying to line up the body with the frame. Something about a 80lb German Shepard licking you in your ear. :)

Some before and after............

Looks good, I am glad you did the metal you covered, too many guys use those to cover :dung: and it keeps rusting, doing it right is how you get pride in your build:chug:

From my last post I went back and looked at pictures and got my rockers figured out. I went backoutside and got those nailed down. Then sanded down both sides and primed them both.

On to the dash but didn't get a picture of my new panel since it wasn't done yet. Got a big painting weekend planned. I want to paint the bed liner in the tub. Prime some more on the body. Finish up all the welding on the body. I gotta prime, paint, clear, the bed on my wifes 65 chevy truck too. I'll be a paint spraying fool.

Had to move the jeep out to the power cord for the welder so I can do the roll cage.

No im not. I see no need to for a daily driver and light off roading. Besides that when I rolled my first land cruiser that roll bar held up ok. If I would have had a cage there wouldn't have been so much damage to it.

the hood from hell, I have sanded on it a total of 2 hours now. I'm wondering what kind of paint was on it.

Shot the first coat of silver yesterday. pointing my efforts towrds the frame to get the body ready to set onto the frame. Pictures later

This calls for

Just discovered my dog decided to help me with my wiring. All she chewed off was the bulb holders for the front marker lights. I guess it could have been worse. On another note, I am working very hard to get this jeep going. I have a cause. When I went to Biloxi a couple weeks ago I told my son he can have my dodge truck. He is extremely happy over this. But not till I get the jeep up and running. So I'm b***S to the wall on this jeep.

youll probably kick me for now telling you this now, but there is this stuff you can buy at lows and you just put it on your paint and the paint will wrinkle up an fall off down to bare sheet mettle even if its like 10 different layered paintjobs. i had an old samurai and i took a wire brush wheel to the hood and realized that the previous owner must have repainted the samurai every season with a different color and never sanded a bit. I sprayed that stripper chemical on the hood and in about 20min the paint wrinkled up like paper and i just wiped it off and i was left with bare mettle. It was REALLY COOL. the only thing i could think about is if some bad kids found out about this stuff and hit the wall mark parking lots dissolving everybody's paint jobs

I tried some "aircraft" stripper from oreilly and all it did was piss the paint off. Oh well Thanks anyway I do still have the windsheild frame to do.
