The intake manifold will also help hold it on the head.
 
Pretty sure that's the way that header was originally manufactured.

It's hard to tell from the photo but it's pretty obvious that it was cut with a right angle grinder or something similar. I'll take yalls word that it'll function. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't wasting my time. Thanks for the help guys.
