Has anyone else had trouble fitting a offenhauser intake n header on a 96 4.0l head. I have sent two back now because the number 6 and number 2 intake runners hit. What is everyone running besides the factory header style exhaust.

What are you running for an exhaust manifold? You may have to go with a header type manifold. The 96 4.0 head is a high port head. Are you setting the intake high enough to compensate for this? You should be able to make it fit with a little modification. It's not a bolt in fit.

Yes I've filed the intake to fit the dowel pins what I'm having trouble with is the runners hitting on the intake and header. I have a Clifford now and it looks like it will work. We will see.

When I put my Clifford intake on my Stroker engine, I had to indent the #6 exhaust port on the header. The Clifford Manifold is a little deeper than some because of the water jacket in it. Supposedly the only exhaust that will work without any modification with the Clifford intake is the Clifford exhaust header.
