What is chemtool b-12 ?

If it's an acid like toilet bowl cleaner, I would wash the tank out with baking soda and water afterwards to nutralize the acid.

I clean rust and other oxydation off of all kinds of parts including electrical switches like headlight switches or light socket contacts, and even the back side of aluminum wheels using toilet bowl cleaner. It works wonders and only costs a buck a bottle from Walmart. The trick it to know how long to leave it soaking without removing too much material.
I'm sure it would work great for removing rust from inside a gas tank.

Also beware that toilet cleaner will etch cement, so don't clean parts over your driveway with it.

Chemtool is just simply God's gift to mechanics.

It is kinda like carb cleaner but has a lot more uses. Its a great gas additive to clean out gunk.

You can add it to your oil and run the engine for 10 min, dump the oil, and cleans EVERYTHING out. Really amazing stuff.

You can thin paint with it, and strip paint. Brush spark plugs with it and they're new again.
