Help! Questions with Emissions - Catalytic Converter

My 2009 Jeep Wrangler Sahara has 115k and my engine light has been on for the last few months. I have ran the codes a few times and it first was running the O2 sensor code and now its running just the catalytic converter code (0430). My gas mileage has been fine, but I have noticed a rusty squeaking sound from my muffler when I go over bumps in the road. I'm debating trading in for a new wrangler, or fixing the problem and seeing how many more years I can get out of it. Any opinions on what to do??

I've got an 84 and it has never flashed a code. . I think considering it has lasted 33 years with 235,000 miles and is just starting to get broken in, I think my grandkids will be driving it. I'm just hoping they will still be making gasoline then.

BeachJeep21, change your O2 sensor. When the O2 sensor goes bad it can cause other fault codes.

Oxy sensors do put out a small amount of voltage and that voltage can be checked with a digital voltmeter. If the voltage readout varies from a high and low reading this will show that it is working. The readout on my CJ goes from .1 to .9 volts for example.

Not sure if it applies to the newer models as much as the older Jeeps, but OEM sensors seem to have the best results. NDK brand as I recall
