Idea of Trans Cost Rebuild

Good Morning,
I'm finally getting some money to get back to working on my jeep again. I'd pulled the motor about 6 weeks ago, and I found that the Transmission bell housing had cracked, causing the problem I was having with the starter barely contacting the ring gear. I also found that the input shaft has a lot of slop too, probably wasn't too good on it with the engine & Transmission getting misaligned when that crack happened. I'm going to get the Transmission rebuilt, and just wondering what I can expect. I'd deliver it to the shop, no need for them to pull it. It's the 4-speed (T-4 ?) Transmission . I'm also wondering if it's possible for it to be rebuilt as a 5-speed? I've just started my research, but sounds like the case is the same for the T-4 and T-5 . It'd be nice to have an Overdrive for the highway driving.
