Identification

[Bocalis]

I am going to attempt a rebuild on my '85 CJ7 or the following components:

Transmission
Transfer Case
Clutch

First step is Identifying which of each I have

Transfer Case
I know which Transfer Case I have, Dana 300 ('80-'86) is there a cast number to confirm this?

Transmission
Where should I find the casting number? From my research I'm guessing I have either the T-4 (cast# 13-51) or the T-176 (cast# 2604203)

Clutch
I have no idea which engine I have. It's an I6, I know that. I'm guessing its a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l ...? Any easy way to identify your engine....

Additionally, if anyone could point me to quality master rebuild kits for the transfer and Transmission that would be most helpful.

The ID code is stamped on the left side of the case on your Transmission . And it should be a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l for that year.
