identify the mystery MSD part

Hey everyone, I could use a bit of intel on this part....

what is the part on the right side of the pic?

The guy who sold the ignition to me said it went with the system...I found one pic when I did a google search, but no mention of what the heck it is.

It is approx 1 1/2 inches x 4 inches and weights a good bit considering its size. A ground block maybe??????????????

Nope, not a darn number at all... It says "MSD Ignition" in bold lettering...

but nothing to give it away...

i found this pic while doing a google image search..

It shows my mystery part on the upper right of the pic... but I couldnt get any numbers off it either!!!!
