I am needing to check vacuum leaks and the lines are messed up from previous owner. Can someone link a vacuum diagram for a 1979 AMC 304 ? Thanks! biggrin.gif

Sorry for the NOOB question, but on the diagram above the carb has a "M" "E" and "S" for the 3 different lines. What do these mean?

No one should feel they have to apologize before asking a question.
I've never seen anyone here crash on someone for asking a question.
If someone did they forgot where they came from.
My only advice would be to give it a shot at researching your question first before asking as this is a good way to self learn.
Sometimes you can find the answer faster then posting, other times not so much.

To answer your question, I've always known it to be
M=manifold vacuum
E=EGR vacuum
S=switched vacuum
