- 1979 Jeep CJ5 with 304 V8, T18 Transmission, Dana 20 Transfer case with TeraLow 3:1 gears, 4.88 axle gears, Detroit Locker up front and Ox Locker in back with 1 piece axle shafts, 36" SuperSwamper SX Tires, Shackle reversal, MileMarker Hydraulic winch, MSD 6A ignition.
It very well could be a 1969.
I can say it is earlier than 1971 because it has wipers on the top of the windshield; no door hinges.
If it was earlier than 1965 it would have a cutout on the passenger side of the hood. This was used to add a snorkel.
It looks like it is anywhere between 1965 and 1970 but I don't see anything to pin it down to 1969.
In about 1970 a law was passed saying the gas tank could not be in the passenger compartment. Your jeep came before that. It is really looking like it could be a 1969.

There is some info about the serial numbers there but once again I didn't see anything that could pin down your year.
I still say 1969 is very believable.
