Yes, there is news! My shop guy took the FIRST (of two) axle kit and the SECOND (of three) bearing set, put them together and installed them into the CJ he is building for his wife. That Jeep is not finished, but it is driveable. And those axle parts are still in there kicking. Not a lot of miles put on them, but a couple of hundred at least. He is having no problems with the set.
Now, the SECOND (of two) axle kits along with the THIRD (of three) bearing sets, are installed in my CJ.
Confusing, so here's a recap: Installed axle kit #1 along with bearing set #1. Bearings suffered separation failure and were tossed, resulting in my buying bearing set #2. When this installed combination also showed symptoms of possible failure, BOTH axle and bearings were pulled out, and both now reside inside shop Jeep. Meanwhile...I purchased another Moser axle kit #2, and it contained bearings which were actually set #3.
Axle #2 and bearing set #3 are in my Jeep at this time. I do not have the photos of the axle splines as promised, much of this was done while I was out of action recuperating from the Flu. Even I have to catch up with what he's done.
Firmly believe my problem is gonna be the tubes!!
