Motorcraft ignition question

As I understood from other threads here is, that parts from US cars are
sometimes interchangeable, nevertheless is not being found in the books
(do not think of it in Europe )
So my question ( I asked about the motorcraft carburetor successfully):

Is there any list available for my Motorcraft Distributor, that translates the
AMC parts numbers into Ford/Motorcraft numbers?

That egtells me if a Motorcraft DH6 cap would fit my 194 D9FE Distributor?

As with the carburetor, The distributor is prety much the same too. The only difference that i have found is that some of the ford pigtail ends are different.

See if these help. They are not a Motorcraft to AMC cross reference but might give you some ideas. Also remember that Motorcraft is Ford and Ford parts can be had around most of the world.

Yes, these are very helpful links to put together additional parts
of the puzzle. If I understood this correctly, the ignition parts prior
to 1979 should fit as I have the old style cap, because with 1980
the "new" style connectors started.

Lutry, the Motorcraft ignition system came out for the '78 CJs. Not sure about the plug though. For me the addition of the large cap, rotor, and adapter was a great help and installing that dedicated ground for the icm will help that icm live a bit longer.
