No point to this post really...just here to complain and lament.

I've been going back and forth for the past year over doing the MPI conversion from Mopar.

Like anything with a 3k price tag I like to think about things. Finally decided to bite the bullet and order the MPI for the Jeep. Turns out "everybody" decided to stop making the damn things and now I'm on back order with a probable cancellation. Seems that I waited to long and Mopar isn't really making them anymore. I was like really? Just send my kit in the mail...pretty please.

Currently you can get them for an automatic from the big suppliers, but for a manual Transmission I seem to be out of luck. Talked to the folks at Hesco and they said no dice too. Apparently, Chrysler isn't making PCM's and a few other parts and are letting the kit die off...I have looked and looked and dont think they're going to come back online so to speak.

Soooo, if you're planning on grabbing one and have an automatic now's the time to do it.

On the of chance you have a kit for sale PM me and we'll talk haha.

At this point, I'm waiting for my order to be canceled...and then I suppose I'll grab a Howel TBI and call it done. In then end I guess it frees some of my money up for a proper lift with a YJ conversion.

Woes is me as I bounce along on my 2 inch springs up front for at least another 2 months ;)

God send in a way I suppose. Would you really want to install something you can't get parts or tech support for?

IIRC the crank position sensor is the only none Mopar stock item. I havent been on the Hesco forum in ages, looks like I should check in;)

You got lucky T'light...........;)
CXL the order and keep search'n.

A lot of folks have had luck with the GM TBI from a 4.3l v6 which can be done pretty cheap if you don't mind researching a little and scrounging. This is basically what the Howell kit is, and they are quite reliable and easy to work on.
The only unknown for these is how much longer parts are going to be available, kind of similar issue to the mopar stuff. It is possible to put one of these together for under 500$, so at least you wont have a lot invested, and there is a mountain of info and advice on the GM tbi stuff on the interweb. I scrounged up enough parts (throttle body, sensors, harness, etc.) to do 3 complete setups from the local pick-a-part for about 250$. All of my stuff came from 5.7l 88-95 gm fullsize trucks.

Check out FITech and Holley - both have sub $1000 TBI's with built-in ECM's that may work on a six. Would need a 4-barrel mount though...

Remember that like I-T'light lives in PRK(CA.). This means that anydangthing he does, has to be pre-OK'd by the state's SMOG nazies.

What did you decide on fuel injection?

I ended going with the Howel CA legal kit.
