Upgraded distributor cap, wires and plugs a while back and want to replace coil with MSD. My ICM is the stock fender mount one.
Does anyone know which MSD Blaster part# is correct for this application.
I see there is one desiganated with a F for ford ignition system.
Thanks for the anticipated answers!!

Always better to ask stupid questions than make a stupid mistake;)

My guess would be use it if you want, I just run the standard Ford type coil. From doing some research on the net, for the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l , which does not see excessive rpms, a conventional cannister coil would give the same results.

You should be able to use the 8202 or 8205. I have the 8202 mounted as a back-up to my stock coil.

You could use the 8202. Blaster 2 Coil Hi-Performance - 8202

If you do a lot of off roading get the 8222. High Vibration Blaster Coil - 8222 This one has a resin core. It holds up better to getting banged around. The 8202 is oil filled. My OEM coil shorted out on me and I got a 8222.

Neither of these can be used with the big OEM snap on connector. You will need crimp on connectors like this:

I run the 8222 also.
