Got a 76 CJ5 with a SBC 350 and a T-18 Transmission . I have a chevy pressure plate with a ford clutch disc, chevy throw out bearing and a chevy fork. I am using a ford hydraulic slave with about 2 1/4 inches of throw but can not get enough throw to make the clutch engage fully.1st and reverse grind but it will still go into gear and it releases right at the bottom of the pedal with no room for adjustment. The bearing is basically right up against the plate with about a 1/16 of an inch in play. Not sure if I need a different fork or maybe a different throw out bearing or slave. Has anyone run into this?

Increasing your clutch travel can be done by a different hydraulic cylinder or bellcrank if you have one.

WELCOME :chug:
You want from 1" to no more that 1 1/4" of free pedal movement before you feel resistance in the pedal.
As the clutch plate wears. The pedal free-play will decrease.
Can you post pictures to show us what the adjustment area looks like?
