Body Need help with body mounts

I'm trying to remove the 2" body lift from the previous owner. Both of the front rocker mounts had bolts broken off in them. I was a able to get both out fairly easily but I can't get new bolts back in. The bolt will just start to thread then binds. It doesn't go into the capture nut. I can threat is into the capture nut from the top, but then it binds when it goes into the body. I removed a middle mount bolt to make sure it was the same size and it is. The broken pieces are also the same size/thread as the new bolts. Now I can't get the middle bolt back in. It goes into the body and binds. I don't think it's getting to the capture nut.

Is the body threaded before the capture not? I wouldn't think so but I can't figure it out. I don't want to force the bolt and risk snapping another.

No, the body is through until the nut. Sounds like the body has slightly shifted. I would loosen all the body mounts to allow it to free until you get all the bolts started.

I didn't get to try. It was Mother's Day weekend and we're trying to get out of town. It will have to sit for a couple of weeks before I get back to it.
