It was worth it for me. Pre-made. Plug and play. 5 minutes and it was in and running. Much better made than it would have been if I did it myself. Used the same kit for my Impala.

Someone was making them and selling them here at $50.

That’s robbery! I just posted an ad for up to $10 for a better kit.

Would you please post a list of components used. Along with install instructions.
If possible-A picture of the real harness would be nice to see.

It's in Body, Chassis, and Electrical, not in the classified section. Maybe a mod could move it.

I have installed the Speedway kit. The one JeffP is offering is works differently than the Speedway kit. One relay for high, and one for low, both triggered by the original signal from the switch. I am not saying one is better than the other, but that they are different. Which design is better is for each person to decide.

The instructions will cover both the Speedway setup AND the one mentioned. Personally I prefer both high & low on at the same time. If you need high beams you might as well go for REALLY high beams.
No kidding, it’s like the sun came up. Basically the same amount of light with conventional high beams on an old CJ with the old KC lights... but without the KCs.

Be happy to. Right now my house AC quit and I need to run to the store & deal with that. When done I’ll post a drawing with parts list and instructions. The average guy should be able to do this without my kit!

Hope it ain't the compressor.
Good luck!

Sorry JeffP, I was wrong about where this was posted. It is in the correct place. I will not get in a debate as to which design is better, I have my opinion, but then I am an engineer (EE), so I do think it's nice of you to offer to help others. Again sorry about the mistake.

No need to apologize for anything. It was my fault for being in a hurry and not explaining things properly.
I found 12v 30/40 amp relays on Amazon for $2.40 each with free one day shipping. With two per vehicle that’s a whopping $4.80. Pretty sure I could include shipping for the $10 estimate I originally quoted. We will see how it goes.
There is evidence of intelligent life on this site so I hope one who is familiar with “electricical” stuff can look over my schematic & parts list & add their two cents worth.
Here’s an even better idea! Since you have a real education in this... how about I send you one (for free) to look over, test or play with and you give an unbiased opinion. If you can’t or won’t use it, give it to someone that can. Everybody wins.
Oh... and my AC is working again! My wife is happy so everyone in a 3 mile radius is happy! Life is good!
I’ll start on my drawing now.

Having some trouble with the instructions / schematic. I can’t find two CJs with the same color code for wiring... be patient.
Until then here is a sample of high & low beam.

Here is the drawing... instructions won’t upload.

Has anyone used the following lights:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01G4Y19WI/ref=psdc_15736451_t1_B001OMPJGS

secondly is Jeffp still making the relays?

Lastly, to run LED tails do you need to do the same relays?

No... I buy the relays & make up a kit. lol. I’ve been having trouble with PMs, send me an email. I’ll respond with instructions. If you are comfortable with them we can decide what to do from there.
In reality, if you understand my instructions, you can put together “the kit” as well. It’s merely two relays (Amazon or auto parts store), a couple of screws, wire and connectors.
It’s the instructions you need; whick I can email. The rest you can do yourself.
I’ll be happy to make it for you but you might as well do it yourself and save even more.
Nothing else is needed to run led taillights. As long as you have regular bulbs in front still, you don’t even need a special flasher.

Ok, first thanks to Jeff for being willing to send instructions on fabbing up the harness for an H4 conversion. I’m comfortable turning wrenches and enjoy doing it, but wiring isn’t something I’m that knowledgeable on! Once you get past “hot and ground” it’s time for me to sit down. That being said, the instructions actually made sense to me. Go figure!
However, due to time constraints, plus the H4’s sitting on the counter for me to see everyday, I sprung for the kit. Got it from Summit a couple dollars cheaper than Speedway. It was a snap to put in! Before installing it I wired it up to make certain everything worked. Then it was simply a matter of routing the wires through the grill so it can’t be seen, mount the relays to the inner fender, plug in the lights, ground them, hook up the “Hot” and BAM! Nice bright headlights that work on hi and low! It is absolutely amazing how much brighter these are when compared to the old seal beams! Sorry.....no before and after. Once I got started.......well, you know how it is. It took about 35 minutes start to finish. That’s including cutting away the old mystery wires that went to who knows what in times past. Added benefit! Cleaned up the wiring harness!

One note. I read reviews on the harness, Speeedway’s I believe, and a couple commented that for the cost, it should be fused. I don’t remember how current those reviews were, but the one I got from Summit has the fused link. Just an FYI.

Thanks again for all the help! Love this forum! Maybe I will be able to contribute one day instead of just asking for help!

I hope all my fellow Jeep brothers and sisters have a safe and blessed 4th!

Can you provide a link to the summit harness?
