pinion and carrier pre-load specs needed

Rebuilding a Dana 44 and Dana 30 diff, new bearings for pinion shafts and carriers...can someone tell me the pinion preload and pinion plus carrier preload specs on these diffs...Haynes book does not provide specs and the new shims provided are not the same thicknesses as the old worn out ones removed...so I can not just match things up.
also specs on backlash for both too, I have been given info on backlash already but would like the same info from two different sources.

this is my first diff rebuild and wanted to do it right....not like tuning a carb "by ear".
