Question, I have recently heard some bad things about the POR-15. Has any one who has had it on for more than a few years noticed any issues with it flaking off? The person who was telling me about it used on the frame, not out where it was in the sunlight, also it spent a lot of time in the garage, not outside.

Due to being a frame off restoration, and living in the rust belt, i am looking for both the longest lasting, and most economical solution for frame and tub rust prevention

My bet was they skipped on proper prep work.
I have used POR-15 many times and have never had it flake off.
Much like any paint or coating, 99% is prep.

My opinion. Onthose sorrt of roducts is that f used so you do nt have to get rid of rust then do not be surprised witk rbems. But if used after appling all the elbow grease it takes to remove all the rust, it works great,

Been drinking? :chug:

No, one my droid, small keyboard

I did my frame about 9 years ago and it is still perfect and I drive my Jeep in the winter. Not everyday but it sees snow and :dung: and it looks great. I would do it again. I spent alot of time with flapper wheels and then doign the whole zinc coating instruction so prep is key to long life.

I still got some on my fingers from 3 years ago. Does that count?

Still stickin on the CJ just fine. I prepped and top-coated as per the instructions.

X2 on that![/B;)

Prep is it. I like to get down and steel brush anyting I can. Rust sucks and out here we pride ourselves in rust free.

thanks for all the responses, i will have quite a bit of prep workl to do on this, after the new frame to cab mounts, the full width gets built, and the boatsiding is done, i will be prepping for this. Gotta love a frame off rebuild.

Follow the instructions, PREP correctly - Should be no worries.
