quick push rod install question

I just put a few new pushrods in my AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l and torqued them down to 21 ft/lbs. Should I have put lock tight or anything special I should have done. Just asking because they seemed when I took them off it was more than 21 ft/lb to take off thanks

No lock tight on the rocker arm bolts.
