You'll see why soon why I titled the thread this way.. here it goes...
A couple weeks ago I was driving home from work and got stopped by a light, when it turned green I pushed in my clutch pedal and noticed there was much pressure on it.. tried to put in 1st and only got loud grinding noises, went for all gears.. Pushed to the side of the road and turned it off.
I noticed once the motor wasn't running that I could put in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and reverse, but turn the motor on and it wasn't happening except grinding noises. Long story short, I drove it home by starting the motor in 1st and slamming the gas pedal, only had to run 2 lights and a stop sign on my 30 minute drive
Got it home and let it sit until last night. With the help of a friend who knows way more about transmissions than I do, we got it off and out. Here are the pictures of what it looks like currently. I was told that it may just need a new clutch, throwout bearing, resurface but not 100% sure.
Before it just completely quit working, there was always grinding from 2nd to 3rd gear, unless I double clutched, then it was fine. I did notice a couple days before it died completely, it would sometimes grind 1st to 2nd, but not as much as my other grind. I assumed the synchronizers were bad, but if my clutch and related components were defective, wouldn't that cause the grinding issues?
I'm trying to avoid doing anything overly extensive in the Transmission box, but will if have to While it's out VS dropping it again (ugh).
Let me know any info you guys may have, what I should buy to fix it, ID the exact Transmission I have (T-150 ??), and any other tips would be much appreciated..
So here was the nightmare of what we had to do to get her out...
