Build Thread Rocky Mountain 85 CJ7
Matt snapped this pic this morning for me as the sun was coming up. Plan to take more in the light later. Still lots to do. The dash will be done, same color but without the textured finish. Everything else will be a flat black, steps, bumpers, roll bar and the inside of the bucket which will be black rhino. Future plans (translation after I find a Leprechaun to rob) - seat upgrade, bumper upgrade, roll bar cage, and anything else high speed low drag. However, the next task is to get the engine and drive train in top shape.
 
Shouldn't need to worry about any Rocky Mountain pin stripes with that.:D
 
I am thinking the chrome rims gotta go...I may be selling these and replace them with black rims. Don't laugh at the tires...that's what the PO had on it. Plan to change those out too...and I thought sailboats were money holes.

Nope...it is literally armor coated. Dog can jump up on the side, Elk and deer running into the sides at full speed, no dings, nicks, or scratches to worry about...
 
The color changes depending on where you stand in the sunlight. Pics are not doing it justice, but here are a couple more. Working on preparing to do the inside and dash next. Waiting on glass for a door and will get those done. Hope to have it done before Thanksgiving.
 
finished the roll bar, steps and inside of the tub. Just the dash left to do.
 
Looks good how are you going to do the dash and inside of the w/s frame?
 
Dash is going to be just paint, same as the outside as is the w/s frame. It is hard to tell inside the shop, but the outside really is a metallic shale green. When you look at the step you can see the contrast of back to the body...sort of.
 
Digging that paint, way cool. Before I saw the pictures I was expecting a shiny little metal flake, nooope!

Again, super awesome dude.
 
Inside. Plan on new seats next year...have to space out the spending. For now these will do...or I may pick up seat covers on the cheap.
 
I went right back to have another look at the cutting and patching photos ... to get some perspective.
Still shaking my head in amazement - You've completely transformed that CJ.
Looks great now with old seats, rims and tires - All the hard work is done.

Really nice job on your reborn Jeep. I like the old slot mags on it, gives it some old school look with the new paint.

Nutter Bypass done...here are some pics and that follow along on the Nutter bypass threads.

Two places to cut wires. One is under the Coolant tank and further under the ignition module. Find the wires from that and find the purple and orange ones, give yourself enough wire FROM the module to work with and cut them. (Pic one shows it after I spliced in my bypass purple and orange wire.)
