quick question....is it possible to replace front bearing without tearing the Transmission down?

You should be able to remove the input shaft housing, then the front bearing snap ring, and the bearing should come out. It is easiest if the top cover is removed so that you can tap on the input shaft to drive the bearing out. It should not require much forcing. I used a brass drift punch to do the job.
