I am rebuilding a Borg-Warner T-5 from my 85 CJ7 and I failed to mark the position of the synchro sleeves on the synchro hubs. When reviewing instructional manuals and video's they all say to mark the positions so they can be put back together as they were. Does anyone have insight into why these parts need to be put back together as they were, and what I am risking by not doing that?
 
It’s for wear fitment. You can clock them in 3 different positions, just test how they slide and rotate to each location for the keys. Pick the position that feels the best.

Check out Gearbox Videos on YouTube Paul has excellent videos on the T-5 and will illustrate what I just typed better.
