I have a 727 in my 1981 Scrambler that needs rebuild or replace. I found a 999 from a 1993 Wrangler for a good price rebuilt. Wondering if I can use it in my Scrambler. I know it will fit/bolt up, but any other concerns? I know I don't need the crank position sensor and itshould be a 32RH so hydraulic control.
This tranny also had an NP231 Transfer Case on the tail end. I have a Dana 300 .

Found my answer.

The tranny would bolt in fine. The crank sensor hole is just convenient if I want to go FI some day. The tranny is non-lock up. The only problem is that it had an NP231 Transfer Case so the output shaft is longer.

Yes that I knew tat along with the output shaft being longer, I guess I would need to replace the shaft and use a clocking ring. Would the ring act asa spacer enough that you would'nt need a shorter shaft? I'll probably just look for one to bolt right up or just rebuild the 727. Thanks for the help.
