Really does look good, even closer than 10 foot I like to call the grab bar the " white knuckle bar ". I've had a couple of people grab that thing like they were hanging from a tree branch 100 feet up in the air

lol I have actually used mine when a buddy of mine was driving off deep in the woods :0 I didnt have the doors on or working seat belts.... thought he was going to toss me out of my own Jeep

Got a little more done last night - scrounged up the headlight assemblies, broke em down, cleaned em up a little, hit em with some paint, and stuck em back in the grille. Gonna swap the hardware for stainless shortly...... Glad to see the eyeballs back in place

Thanks, guys - Amaizing how much better stuff looks in pics...... the grille has a bunch of small fish eyes below the passenger parking light - but I'm gonna live with em. I figure once the bumper and brush guard are in front, may not be real noticeable -

I think unless you're bringing it to the car show to be judged it won't matter. I leave mine in the parking lot if I got to the car show

In preparation for the final bolt down of the tub, I started looking for the bottom washers under the body mounts. Fender washers won't work - too thin. Found a set of thick stainless washers for 60 bucks - uh, no - not a chance I'm paying 6+ bucks a washer. Soooo, grabbed a chunk of the 11ga steel, drilled a few holes, cut em out as squares, derusted, primed and painted.

My wife came home from work, saw the "decorations" and just gave me that look - I told her I was makin the garage look like a sombrero ...... she wasn't bitin.....

Forgot to add these pics.... had the welder out, ran across the spare tire stop (which must be from the YJ tub as it's not a CJ stop), so I decided to mod it a bit...

Decided to try my hand at making the para cord door handles....... I guessed at the length - didn't want a big "loop", and it's a little longer than I had in mind, but honestly they probably won't get a lot of use anyways. Been trying to decide on a weave, and saw a rifle sling done in the king cobra pattern, so that's what I used. I set up the distance to give an extra inch and a half, which in retrospect should have been an inch or less,

cut a couple feet to determine the approx length of cord per pass at each width. Did the math, cut a piece of cord, started weaving,

Completed the first pass, headed back for the second pass, got within 2" of the end, and ran out of cord........ (insert favorite explicative ever here). Sooooo, cut another piece 4' longer, and wound up with this:

Not much on the chrome caps...... I'll black em out later, they'll just have to be chrome for a bit....
